LAUGHS WITH NADIR

Meet the Lahori from San Fran Bay
With a knack for comedic display
Spinning sketches on immigrant strife
Nadir Bhai is just larger-than-life

He takes potshots at Desi parents
Phuppho's parathas, Abbu's laments
Gorays grappling with immigrant names
Cultural parody is his claim to fame

Only the wife gets the better of him
She's too smart, so his chances are slim
Though the kids might agree he's a pro
Just a glare and she's stolen the show

Sketch by sketch, his humour runs wild
And on Insta he has Desis beguiled
If your poison is cultural gaffes
Follow Nadir, the Badshah of Laughs!

This is the 12th poem in my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign. This one is dedicated to Nadir Shah and his Insta page ItsNadirShah. Nadir is a social media content creator, who is well known for his cultural satiure and sketch comedy videos on Instagram and YouTube. Born in Lahore and currently based in the Bay Area of San Francisco, he amassed several years of experience in digital and social media marketing in the corporate world before taking a plunge into content creation full time. His sharp wit and relatable humour on quirks and struggles of Desi immigrants in the western world, Pinjabi mannerisms and traditions, the cultural gap between the Desis and the West, cultural stereotypes, and family dynamics have earned him several fans in the Indian subcontinent and the US.

KARMACHARI KICK-BACK

Corporate Karmacharis, stuck in a grind
Deadlines endlessly playing on their minds
Monday Blues all week long
Then work-weekends came along
Can't complain though, coz everyone's aligned

Needless meetings with no end in sight
Email escalations leading to fights
Managers full of pretense
Throwing jargon so dense
Work-life balance - a well-crafted lie

But a hero from IG's arrived
Helping employees salvage some pride
Sparks a humorous vibe
Calls out nonsense with bite
It's Corporat Comics...Subscribe!

As you know, I am participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025, and I will be writing poems dedicated to my favourite Instagram pages. Today's poem is a tribute to Corporat Comics, which delivers hilarious and hard-hitting comics on everyday madness of the corporate life.. The man behind Corporat Comics, Bengaluru-based Shubham Khurana, is a digital marketer by profession and an artist by passion. He draws inspiration from his corporate experience to come up with witty and relatable comics. His journey as a comic strip artist began as a way to combine his love for sketching with the monotony of office culture.

JEWEL OF THE SHUFFLE

Twists and turns, arms swing with flair
Spins and slides amid fanfare
Her moves are smooth, and sharp, and sleek,
It's The Melbourne Shuffle, a style unique

With the T-Step form, her feet kick in,
Then lifts and rotations, and the game begins
And soon enough the Running Man
Then both combine, a rhythmic plan

In a jiffy her feet run untamed
She's in her flow, the floor's set aflame
In a rapture, her ecstasy takes a wing
Hail the Shuffle Maestra, Akanksha Singh

Today's poem, the tenth in my 2025 campaign of the A to Z Blogging Challenge, is a tribute to Gurgaon-based Akankshaa Singh. Akankshaa, who is popular on social media for her channel Shuffle with Akanksha, is a jewellery designer by profession but a fitness enthusiast and a professional dancer by passion. She specializes in the Melbourne Shuffle style of dancing.

The 43-year-old mother of two has a very inspiring story. Her passion for the Melbourne Shuffle was nothing short of happenstance; she was holed up for more than two months at her parents' house during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019-20. It was during this time, while binging on TikTok videos, that she found herself fascinated with the shuffle, and decided to give it a try. After weeks of practice. she decided to take it several notches higher by embarking on a learning journey, and the rest is history.

Her dance academy, Shuffle with Akanksha, is the outcome of her desire to share her learning journey and love for dance with others.

Check out the video below. She regularly posts dance tutorial videos, very often featuring herself dancing alongside her daughter.

Her Instagram URL is Shuffle with Akanksha

Dil mein jo baatein hain

Huzoor mere post par ek baar

It's day #9 of my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign. I guess I'm already losing steam, and I'm not sure how long I can carry on.

Yesterday was kinda disappointing. Had almost 70 people reading my post but received only 1 comment; so either the poem did not resonate with the audience, or maybe everyone else is also running out of steam 😝

Today\s poem is not
about any IG personality, but I'd like to dedicate it to Zakir Khan and the team of writers involved in creating the popular Farzi Mushaira show on Amazon Prime. Both need no introduction.

For those who are not familiar with the show, I am pasting a video clip below. It is one of my favourite bite-sized shows on Amazon Prime and I can watch it on repeat. Let me know in the comments whether you like it.

The Instagram URL is Farzi Mushaira

HAAYE-PL

I'm on day #8 of my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign. Today's poem doesn't directly talk about the work of any IG personality as such, but the opening line is inspired by the signature style of one of my favourite content creators, Anurag Minus Verma.

Anurag
is a multidisciplinary artist, author, and filmmaker, who also runs a well-known socio-political podcast under the name AMV. His films have been screened at several international festivals. In his avatar as an author, he has written for several reputed publications such as The Print, Newslaundry, and The Wire. Some of his articles have featured in the Indian Express, Scroll, The Hindu, Mid Day, and Vice World. He has also penned a children's book named “Moon Pizza”. His upcoming book on internet culture it set to be published by Bloomsbury in 2025.

He is also known for his hilarious and often thought-provoking reels/video content, which are in the form of essays. These are delivered in his signature deadpan tone, and almost always begins with "Pichle ravivaar ko XYZ pe nibandh likhne ka saubhagya praapt hua". His essay on McDonalds has more than 5 million views!

You can check out the video below to understand his deadpan delivery style and the quality of his content. I bet you will laugh your heart out!

GRACE IN MOTION - ABHINAYA

Grace
Her fingers move
Weaving tales through the air
Each gesture blooms with feminine charm
Mudras

Eyes
She casts her glance
Navrasas spring to life
Each flicker stirs my weary soul
Bhava

Rhythm
Her body moves
In sync with laya and taal
Every sway a flowing rhapsody
Abhinaya

Today's poem, the seventh in my 2025 campaign of the A to Z Blogging Challenge, celebrates Pranjali Sharma. Unfortunately, I do not know much about her. I only know that she is based in the Ambala Cantonment area and teaches dance.

Although I am not a dancer myself and do not understand its nuances and technicalities (had to do a lot of reading to learn about the main elements), I am a big fan of Pranjali's sitting pose style Kathak performances. Her expressions are always on point, and it is always a delight to watch her in action.

I believe her performances have influcned a lot of other women to try out Kathak. A few of my own friends and acquaintances have been following her work for some time now.

FEME LEX: LADY OF LAW

May it please Your Lordship
I stand before your Honourable Court
My heartfelt gratitude
for this opportunity to be heard

Your Honour, let me state
My client is a Legal Luminary
A true evangelist
of the law...her love is exemplary

She shares knowledge o'er reels
Decodes statutes at a generous pace
Verdicts, PILs, bills,
Leading the way through every intricate maze

Through halls where laws convene
Her voice disarms, her bubbly zest sustains
From Indian 'Legisphere'
Feme Lex is here, all rise for Ms. Jain!

I present to you poem number 6 of my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign. And this one is dedicated to one of my most favourite non-entertainment Instagram personalities, Priya Jain.

Raipur-(Chhattisgarh)-based Priya Jain, who is also a co-Founder of Finology Legal,
is a lawyer by profession and a content creator by passion. Known for her bubbly vibe and affable voice, Priya has carved a niche in the digital space by simplifying complex legal concepts for the masses. Her reels, infused with clarity and charm, decode statutes, verdicts, and legal intricacies, making the law accessible to everyone. Despite her bubbly and cheerful vibe, you will really like the no-nonsense delivery of content.

I would personally describe her content as law made simple and relatable.

Her Instagram URLs are as under:

THE ENGLISH NUT

Sumanto Babu was a linguistic knight
A true gentleman, ever polite
But fumble your grammar
And he'd shed all his glamour
And his corrections would sting you with spite.

"Your quips are too sharp", people said
"Your English has gone to your head
Why not teach us with flair
And show that you care?
Use your passion to guide us instead!"

So one day he followed his gut
Faced a camera with style and a strut
Put a channel on the Gram
And stirred up a wham
So they now call him the English Nut!

Today's poem, the fifth in my A to Z Blogging Challenge campaign for 2025, is dedicated to Sumanto Chattopadhyay, who is more widely known on Instagram as 'The English Nut'. A seasoned creative and award-winning copywriter with decades of experience in the advertising field, he has now donned the role of a content creator on Instagram. In the past, he has served as the Executive Creative Director, South Asia, at Ogilvy, and later as the Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of 82.5 Communications (part of the famed Ogilvy Group). Over the course of his illustrious career, he helped build brands like Dove, Pond’s and Star Plus, and was involved in the launch of brands like Pro Kabaddi, Maharashtra Tourism and The Economist. He has been the recipient of several advertising awards at Cannes, the Clios, the One Show, the London Festival, the Abbies and Kyoorius.

The list of achievements and awards won is quite long, and you might want to visit his LinkedIn profile to find out more.

He has also dabbled in modelling and acting, having been nominated for the best actor award at the Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema in France, Germany and UK.

Sumanto also occasionally writes columns on advertising, communication and travel. He is working on a book as well, and because several other things keep him busy, he hopes to finish it sometime in the future.

Fun Fact: He belongs to the lineage of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

DOCTOR GIGGLEPLANT

There's a dentist in Mumbai, West India,
whose humour and charm will disarm ya,
'Ajeeb Ladkii' is the name,
under which she's gained fame,
but her real name is Dr Aishwarya.

Her witty impressions enchant,
desi accents, and sonorous rants,
her reels, silly and clever,
can resonate with whoever,
so I dub her Doctor Giggleplant!

Poem #4 of my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign is dedicated to Dr. Aishwarya Ruparel, more popularly known in social media circles as Ajeeb Ladkii. Aishwarya is a dentist by degree and profession, but a content creator by passion. Early on in her stint as a content creator, she caught attention with her portrayal of a fictional character named 'Gajodhar Chachi'. As of today, she creates relatable reels inspired by regional and professional stereotypes, pop culture, and everyday life. When she's not drilling teeth, she's drilling humor into your timelines.

Fun Fact: Aishwarya appeared on KBC once (in 2022) and walked away with Rs 12.5 lakh.

COUPLE CAPERS

Ahlan wa sahlan, buddies!
Come, sit back and enjoy
And let me introduce you
To a couple from Dubai
This pair of influencers
A sensation on the 'Gram',
It's Zainab al-Sawalhi
And Abdo, her affable man.

Zainab uses moisturizer,
With missionary zeal,
So everything she touches,
Turns slicker than an eel.
And as her hubby wrestles,
With his phones, keys and the floor,
She simply coyly giggles,
And slathers on some more.

No! Abdo ain't an angel!
When Zainab is away,
He spends all day just gaming,
And drifts in idle play.
If she calls to ask, "Did you eat dear?"
He sighs, and sulks, and groans
And grabbing another sambusa,
Laments, "I can not eat alone!"

Their reels burst out with fun and glee,
And I sure am a fan,
So if you fancy comedy,
Yakhi! Come, join the clan!
Watch Messrs Z & A transform,
Daily routine to comic Treat,
Tis a world of unlimited smiles,
Where you can laugh and click repeat.

Enjoy your Arab treat!

Today's poem celebrates Emirati influencer couple, Zainab AlSawalhi and her husband Abdo Khj. Known for their witty takes on relationship quirks, daily routine and playful pet peeves, they transform everyday shenanigans into comedic gold. Their antics are sure to spark warm smiles and loud guffaws.

While Abdo is an actor and an avid gamer, Zainab is a doting mom and an entrepreneur.

The poem is inspired by these hilarious reels ->
Their Instagram URLs are:

THE BALDERDASH SONG

One chilly noon in South Mumbai
Bunshah stepped out and bellowed "chai!"
A bag of chips came out on a saucer
He cried, "tragic masala!", and pulled out his flosser

A mute spectator egged him on
"Screw that. Here, have a macaron"
And on the count of two-point-three
Produced a pack of Garle-P

Bunshah complained, "that's sugar free!"
And burst into a jamboree
If you think that's a pack of lies,
Ask Theatre Aunty...she has three eyes!

On day 2 of my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign, I bring to you a poem in the 'nonsense verse' structure dedicated to another one of my favourite Instagram celebs, Zervaan Bunshah, simply known as Bunshah. Bunshah is a theater actor, voice artist and singer, who also creates funny reels on Instagram. As a digital content creator, he is popular for his satirical takes on upper-class and regional stereotypes.

One of my favourite characters that Bunshah regularly portrays is a grumpy and irritable artsy woman who he affectionately refers to as 'Theatre Aunty'. As you can see, I have incorporated this character in the poem.

You might want to know the context for this nonsense verse poem. Well, Bunshah had once very beautifully recited a poem titled "The Oxymoron Song" and it stuck with me. I thought it would be a good idea to compose something similar, and incorporate some of his funny characters as well as episodes from his life (learn more about his encounters with Lays and Parle G here).

Several of his reel have garnered more than 1 million views.

His Instagram URL is Instagram

The reel that inspired this poem is The Oxymoron Song

His IMDB profile can be found on IMDB

Hope you liked this poem. Please leave your comments/feedback, irrespective of whether or not you liked what you read. Look at it as a great way to start a conversation. Most importantly, it helps me get better.

ANYTHING I WANT

Far away from the lure of the spotlight,
In quiet solitude, always alone,
My inner showman springs to life,
In a realm I quite clearly own.

In that space I can whip up some magic,
In that cyber-verse I'm all the rage,
With my voice and my wit and my keen observation,
Over a million screens, the world's my stage.

On that stage I can be whoever I want,
I can summon and project a thousand souls,
A kiss-thirsty crooner, some ace dancefloor burners,
One man donning a gazillion roles.

Have you watched me cook noisy food bloggers?
Or roast OCD air hostesses at will?
Fans swear by my Hritik and Dhoni impressions,
There's swag and audacity, but never overkill.

Some might say I'm not made for the big screen,
And detractors might lob all their taunts,
Yet I revel in knowing that an impressionist
Can be whatever the heck he wants!

Yes, my name is Rohit Raghavendra,
And folks, I can be anything I want!

The first post in my A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 campaign is a poem dedicated to one of my favourite Instagram personalities, Rohit Raghavendra. Rohit is an actor, a digital content creator, and a freelancing content strategist.

Initially having started out as an engineering student, he eventually opted out to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Post his graduation, he worked at an ad agency for a year before making a foray into acting (check out his IMDB profile at the end of this post). In 2020, the COVID-19 lockdown forced him to turn towards Instagram as his primary creative outlet. And he has never looked back since then.

Rohit can do superb impressions of several celebrities - you can check his IG for reels on MS Dhoni, Hritik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, and several other. But besides these, what makes me a great fan is his ability to make hilarious observations about everyday people and their shenanigans, his funny take on quirky as well as strange-yet-accepted social behaviours, eccentric pop culture personalities and trends, and other relatable stuff.

Among his reels that went viral were his impression of an over-eager airhostess, which has so far garnered more than 20 million views. My personal favourites are his reels on how everyday conversations of young duded in Sanskrit would sound like, the idea of Lonavala as a holiday destination and one on LinkedIn posts.

His Instagram URL is Instagram

His IMDB profile can be found on IMDB

Do visit his profile and check out his content.

Hope you liked this poem. Please leave your comments/feedback, irrespective of whether or not you liked what you read. It's a great way to start a conversation or a dialogue. Most importantly, it helps me get better.

A TO Z BLOGGING CHALLENGE 2025 - THEME REVEAL POST

The past five years or so have been a whirlwind of change for me. A change in residence (albeit not very far from where I was previously living), change in career direction (quit my full-time job to start freelancing), helping my wife raise a growing kid, managing previously unknown health issues, and the nitty-gritties of mundane routine occupied most of my time during this period.

And when such pressing priorities take centerstage in your life, reading and writing tend to be among the first few things that get pushed to the backburner. And that's my explanation for my long absence from Blogosphere.

Time has been a very rare luxury for many of us since 2020. I won't go into details here, but when 40-plussers in nuclear families in urban settings say they are always busy these days, they aren't lying.

Technology is one of the biggest stealers of time in the world we currently live in. We are all part of an intricate digital web, where you simply cannot leave technology out of your routine. Apart from the fact that you are frequently making or receiving calls from family and friends through the course of the day, you are also constantly wading through a far bigger deluge of unknown or unsolicited calls. You also have to keep track of, retrieve, review, and pay bills over the phone or over web-connected devices. And sometimes (not very rare these days), you find yourself grappling with strange surprises and rude shocks, including online fraud attempts. Here again, you have no option but to use devices to look for solutions and go through time-consuming and really painful processes to get your problems resolved or for the sake of convincing reassurances.

Navigating through this digital labyrinth leaves you with very limited time, energy and patience for creativity and recreation. And that's why, you tend to look for frequent and short moments of fun and "time-pass" (as we Desis colloquially say) during sporadic moments of calm that we manage to find during the course of the day.

For me, personally, YouTube and Instagram served as my frequent "Adda". My safe refuge where I could watch a wide array of content, not always of my own choice, but that helped me expand my perspectives. The content that I found was sometimes funny, sometimes banal, very often silly, and on certain occasions freaky and bizarre. But irrespective of the content, they always seemed to offer a much needed distraction and a channel to stoke and nurture my creative streak.

After a five-year hiatus, I have decided to make a comeback to blogging. I was waiting for the right moment and occasion, or perhaps the right event, that would make such a comeback worthwhile and durable...at least for a month.

And the event that I have chosen to ride on to make a comeback is Blogchatter's A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025, which will run through the entirety of April 2025.

For the uninitiated, the A to Z Blogging Challenge is a month-long blogging marathon, wherein writers, poets, and content creators from around the world, create and upload posts on their blogs on a daily basis. They are supposed to post content which bear a title that begins with/is associated with each letter of the English alphabet. For instance, I might choose to write something on the 'Abuse of AI' on April 1 because it starts with the letter A, and then write something on the 'Banality of Digital Content' on April 2 because it coincides with the letter B, and so on. While this exercise can be mentally exhausting and emotionally draining (absolutely not exaggerating here), the Challenge is creatively stimulating and offers a great sense of accomplishment. It also serves as a wonderful platform to meet and engage with other talented writers and content creators.

Given my fascination for social media and the content creators forming part of this universe, my theme for the A to Z Blogging Challenge 2025 is "A Poetic Celebration of My Favorite Instagram Pages”. I will be writing 26 poems through April 2025, each dedicated to a distinct Instagram page or personality.

Needless to say, I'm thrilled to share these poems and Instagram pages through my blog, and I hope my Instagram-meets-poetry adventure resonates with many of you.

Cheers then! And see you in April.

I'm participating in the #BlogchatterA2Z Challenge!

MARVELLOUS SIGHT

A Blind Man Strolled into a Garden,
And Beckoned a Boy Passing By
"Lad, I Smell Something Sweet in the Air Now...
Can You Please Tell Me What it is Like?"

"It's Candy Floss, Sir", the Boy Answered,
"It's Sticky and Swirled Round a Stick,
It's Pink as a Tulip and Fluffy as Clouds,
It's the Candyman's Magical Trick."

"I've a Coin in my Pocket", the Blind Man said,
"Here, Go Grab Yourself a Bite...
And Thanks for the Vivid Description,
It Was Such a Marvelous Sight!"
