A TO Z BLOGGING CHALLENGE 2018 - THEME REVEAL POST

Hello Readers! Hope you're having a great 2018 thus far. I've had an eventful March 2018 thus far. For starters, I got promoted at the workplace. My 4-year-old winning the Student of the Year award at his nursery was the icing on the cake. The Devendra Fadnavis-led Maharashtra State Government played spoilsport though, what with my wife (Maharashtra State Board school teacher) facing a delay in her paycheque by almost a month...for the third month in a row! Anyway, let's leave the mishaps aside and focus on the good things of life, shall we?

April 2018 promises to be as eventful as March, albeit for different reasons. And dear readers, you guys are going to be a part of my experiences this April. How? Well, this April I will be participating in my third A to Z Blogging Challenge season. The A to Z Blogging Challenge 2018 begins exactly a week from today, on Easter Day! So it's going to be 26 posts, on topics beginning with each letter of the English alphabet. That's right folks...26 posts through the 30 days of April (Sundays will be off-days).

As I mentioned before, this will be my third consecutive year of the A to Z Blogging Challenge. I didn't follow a theme last year, and I don't intend to this year either. But what made last season special was the fact that I started collaborating with Instagrammers for images featuring along with my write-ups. I managd to collaborate with 21 Instagrammers last season, not just from India, but also from Pakistan and Bangladesh. This year, I intend to do the same, but with an altogther different set of IGers. So wish me luck!

What am I doing differently this year then? Well, the posts are obviously going to be different this year. But this time around, I've decided to start creating drafts and procuring images well in advance. I remember April 2017 being a nightmare with many sleepless nights - ideating and creating the poems and short stories was hard enough, but finding relevant images and convincing IGers to collaborate was equally gruelling if you ask me. I hope this year will be less taxing on my sanity.

Here's to a wonderful April 2018. I look forward to your unwavering support and feedback.

Cheers,
CRD

TRUE COLOURS

Come, Be What You Wanna Be
Come, Free What They Came To See
Dive Into A Riot of Colours
Hop Onto A Hue-Filled Spree

Drench Yourself In Purple Magic
Bathe In Blue Serenity
Sizzle In The Warmth Of Yellow
Sop Up Snow-White Purity

Bask In Green And Feel Alive
Draw In Pink Resplendency
Stir Up Passions With Crimson Red
Startle With Black Mystery

When Life Affords Some Celebration
And A Rare Pretext For Revelry
Do Not Subdue Your Hues And Shades
But Flaunt Your Colours Lavishly

This poem is the result of inspiration from prompt #8 of Vinay and Reema's weekly prompt initiative called #WednesdayVerses.

A big shout out to Ankita Mazumdar for allowing me to use her image with this poem. Ankita is a 23-year old soon-to-be MBBS doctor (you read that right!!!) from Kolkata. Apart from the obvious interest in medicine, Ankita is also an avid traveller, a talented photographer, a dancer and a fashionista.
